Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 


Bopha Angkor Hotel looks at both social and evironmental factors which affect the community they work in.

  • Separate waste in the hotel
  • Monitor electricity with timer switches
  • Re-cycle water to water garden and outdoor fish tank
  • Staff are employed locally and recruited from Paul Dubrule (20%) and Sala Bai(50%) which are community projects offering scholarships to the young adults from the poorest areas of Siem Reap province
  • Foods and furniture decorating the hotel are locally produced

I am a concern tourist and I always check that the services I use give back to the community. Bopha Angkor is a member of Heritage Friendly Tourism that aims at protecting Khmer heritage and invest in local businesses and community. I think that if you are looking to contribute, this is a good choice.
