Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
ConCERT - Connecting Communities, Environment & Responsible Tourism - is a Cambodian NGO whose aim is to reduce poverty by increasing the amount of support given to the organisations in and around Siem Reap. You can find information on a range of organisations and NGOs that are engaged in community development and support activities, who also supplement the work of the government. These cover many sectors including:
- the care of children, (orphanages, day centres & schools)
- education support
- agricultural development
- infrastructure projects
- vulnerable people, especially women and children
- health and hygiene
- the care and rehabilitation of land mine victims
- environmental & biodiversity protection
