Essential Angkor by Bicycle

Duration: 1 day(s) - Location: Siem Reap, Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm

Explore Angkor by bicycle

This full-day Angkor cycling trip will start from your hotel or guesthouse where bikes have been prepared for you. We like to use TREK 4300 bikes or similar because of the durability and easy handling. Your experienced Angkor cycling guide will brief you on the tour before you head off to the magnificent Angkor temple complex.

Meet with the locals and experience more

Even though the Angkor temple complex covers a vast area, many people argue that cycling around Angkor is the best way to explore the temple complex. You will see many temples of various sizes along the way and it is recommended to make some stops and meet with some of the local people. There are many great photo opportunities, but remember that it is always polite to ask before you take pictures of someone. Your certified Angkor guide can also take you to explore some of the back roads and show you some wonderful roads for cycling that are both quiet and peaceful.

You will ride approximately 25 km mostly on tarmac roads. Then it's worth taking the small road along east side of Siem Reap river to see lives of village before reaching to the the main road. Keep single line on the right hand side of the road. The traffic is a little busy on the main road as there might be some tourist vans and local people on moto-bike and cars passing by.

Other disclosures

This tour mostly follows asphalt roads. The back road along the river and village is small but good enough for cycling, less busy. Total cycling distance is approximately 25 kms.
