Your Hosts

Set in the stunning grounds of a former French Ambassadors residence we have designed the new Visaya Spa & Pool, 29 rooms, plus two luxurious suites, retail and new art galleries amidst the placidity of the mature trees, the black reflection pools and the Siem Reap river, that not only paint a magnificent trace and trail canvas of the green, blue, and white of the day but are a metaphor for the overgrown temple spa sanctuaries of the venerable Angkor Wat and surrounding temples.

The trees really do go through the roof. We are proud of our achievements, combining a magnificent atmosphere of crisp, modern design within the mature grounds of FCC Angkor. We look forward to welcoming you as our guests.

Support local initiatives and is an active members of the ChildSafe Network
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
FCC Cambodia believe in giving back to the community and they are proud to support the following organizations:

Cambodia Rugby

In January 2000, at the initiative of a small group of expatriate players, Khmer rugby was established with kids from an NGO, Pour un Sourire d'Enfant, "For A Child's Smile", caring for children living on the rubbish dumps of Phnom Penh.

The kids passion for the game led The Secrétaire-Générale of the National Commission for UNESCO, Mrs. Tan Theany, to propose that this be included in the 'Associated Schools Program' of UNESCO in Cambodia.

Since that time other shelters and schools have been established in various parts of Cambodia following the same model established in Phnom Penh and rugby has now become an institutionalised part of UNESCO's program activities in Cambodia.

Family Care Cambodia

The goal of Family Care Cambodia is to improve the quality of life for orphans and abandoned children in Phnom Penh. They provide educational materials and motivational programs in institutions, schools and hospitals, both government and private, in effort to improve the educational development of Cambodian youth as well as provide training and educational materials for local teachers and educators.

ChildSafe

ChildSafe is a child protection network in Cambodia. Cambodian taxi-drivers (motodops and tuk-tuks), guesthouses, hotels, restaurants, and Internet cafes are the active members of this network. ChildSafe partners have been carefully selected, trained, tested and monitored to protect the children of Cambodia from all forms of abuse.

Traveller Comments:
"The hotel is really nice in the good location. Nice room layout. Good bed, good pillows. Food is excellent. Sangria is also nice. Also hotel staff is very friendly. Swimming pool is a bit too deep. Spa massage is also good for a long day tour.
Will go back for sure. Highly recommended!!"
Mr. Apichai T. - Thailand on 01/10/2009
"We especially liked the excellent breakfast served at the room (also included in the room price) from 4:30 in the morning. A great start before we went out to watch the magical sunset!"
Mr. Kjetil T. - Norway on 27/03/2009
"Absolutely brilliant trip but beware of the trips to Angkor Wat. Suggest getting a guide from the beginning. Its best to buy the entrance pass on the day you arrive Siem Reap at 5pm and not any earlier in which you can get to go into the Angkor Wat and view the sunset for free and still get to go in the next day. We got conned into buying a day pass at 4pm to see the sunset in Angkor by the some of the staff working at the ticketing booth and the ticket is only good for that day.
USD 20 per person just to climb some hills and view the sunset? Big Time Rip Off!!

Also, should anyone decides to take a boat ride from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh - think twice, do so at your own risk. Ferry boats does not have any life rafts not sufficient life jackets. Ferry boat is packed like sardines in tin cans and its way overloaded for trips across the vast Tonle Sap lake. There are no marine regulation governance but total greed and reaping it in as much as possible from tourists. This is a grave accident waiting to happen. "

"I found our booking experience to be very frustrating. I had sent an email to inquire about availability. NO ONE EVER RESPONDED.
We finally had a concierge at our hotel in Bangkok call, only to find out that FCC Angkor was booked. Why didn't someone let us know? We had to wait for the "response in 24 hours"...so we lost time on finding another place to stay.
I have no idea how good or bad the hotel is; but I can say that the communication is terrible."

"we were very happy with all matters, however there is one thing I would like to mention. there was an umbrella (with the hotel logo) in the room. One day we borrowed it and went out shopping and left it in a shop by mistake. the hotel wanted to charge us USD25 for the lost umbrella saying that was the hotel "policy" and that such umbrella were sold in their on-site shop. the umbrella was poor in quality and nowhere in the room stated that this item was chargeable. We protested but they did not want to hear anything. At the end we refused and offered to go back to the shop where we left that umbrella by mistake the day before to try and retrieve it. we were fortunate to find it and took it back to the hotel."
Ms. Beatrice J. - Singapore on 06/06/2007
"My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The value for money seemed good. The room was comfortable. The swimming pool was refreshing after a full day climbing temples. Dinner outside by the river was especially enjoyable and the food was good. I would recoomend the FCC to anyone. Alistair Brown"
Mr. Alistair B. - United States on 05/02/2007
"Wonderful place to stay the staff was extremely helpful and nice ... will stay there every time we come to Siem Reap .!!! The maids and waiters were the best, I hope they get good pay!!!"
Ms. Debra M. - United States on 23/01/2007
"Beautiful hotel but expensive ! Restaurant is overpriced and food is of poor quality but the cocktails at happy hour are delicious and good value. Majority of the wait staff in the restaurant were pretty unfriendly and seemed to be bullied by the senior staff which created an unpleasant atmosphere."
Ms. Jennifer L. - Australia on 03/10/2006
"I really enjoyed my stay at FCC Angkor. The staff are all genuinely friendly and helpful. The hotel offers a very cozy and relaxed atmosphere. I wish I had a few more days to enjoy. I definitely look forward to an opportunity to come again."
