Fishing community of Kompong Khleang visit - Tonle Sap
As all communities around the lake, the fishing community of Kompong Khleang undergoes dramatic and continual changes due to the seasonal flood levels caused by the reverse flow of the Tonle Sap river. Houses are built on stilts up to 10 m high, and the village is surrounded by flooded forest.
Excursions are adapted to this changing environment depending on lake levels. Learn about local activities of fishermen, unique human adaptations, and the amazing ecosystem of the Tonle Sap lake. Observe the daily village life with visits to the local market, the pagoda and the school.
