"We found additional information to the temples lacking. Local places of interest eg. silk factory, local craft centres etc. should be promoted."

"They employ local staff, use local materials, operate a restaurant on Pub Street that provides both Khmer and European meals. I felt the staff were representative of the Cambodian people.

I needed boiling water in the morning to make coffee and shave (mug and brush) and they provided quickly and cheerfully. They helped us plan our day trips (3). They advised on locations of markets."

Traveller Comments:
"This hotel was wonderful. The breakfast was delicious (try the homemade bacon), the workers were all very helpful and friendly, and it came at a great price.

There were two problems, however: my girlfriend is afraid of bugs (of which there were a few) and the location was a little remote. Other than that, loved it."
Mr. Kevin F. - United States on 21/03/2010
"A good surprise, as you walk thru the gate you are in a tropical garden away from Seim Reap's noise, heat and dust.
Room are nice"
Mr. scott h. - Australia on 09/03/2010
"Hotel did not contact Tuktuk driver about change of departure flight time although i told the counter person twice. The poor tuktuk man had to wait outside the hotel for an extra one hour at 5am. Hotel should inform visitors that siemreap airport charges passenger service tax and credit card service is forever not available.Caused unneccessary anxiety at the airport when we realised that we did not have sufficient USD."
Ms. Soo Ling K. - Malaysia on 19/02/2010
"Adequate room, a small kettle would have been appreciated. The staff did make hot water available for us."
Mr. Christopher A. on 09/11/2009
"Overall good impression about this hotel although the rooms lack some charm, as does the building, more on the chinese mansion style that seems to be a classic over there.

Very nice service and welcoming, great breakfast, and a small pool to cool down...

The main street is still dirt but it is not that far from the main avenue."
Ms. marianne d. - France on 29/10/2009
"Comfortable, friendly, slow and easy. Will go back to this hotel the next time around."
Mr. Roeland W J B. - Netherlands on 09/10/2009
"Very clean and tidy rooms, serviced daily. Friendly staff that spoke good english. Hotel also has restaurants in Pub st that offer cooking classes that are well worth the time."

"Friendly staff. Clean room and complex.
Its true in regards to the bumpy road off the main road leading to the guesthouse, but I believe it adds some charm to it. Its approx 7 min walk to the Crocodile night markets. What I liked about it is that its in an area of local residences... quieter than hotels on the main road.
I believe food ordered comes from the school. Off course a little pricier than the street stalls but worth it."
Mr. JOHN S. - Australia on 09/04/2009
"Le Tigre De Papier - La Residence
Clean, comfortable room in a villa with garden. Wireless internet throughout. Other hotels close by may be less expensive but have no place to sit outside your room.

At our request the hotel arranged a moto driver---Sekun--who is competent and polite. The owner was quick to assist us with reservations for dinner."
Mr. Sher S. - United States on 30/10/2008
"Too far from restaurants, shops etc. The bumpy dirt road was dark and unpleasant - even tuk-tuks did not like to enter it.
Overcharged: the value of the room was half of what I paid.

I mowed to Red Piano which I can recommend."
Ms. Liisa K. - Finland on 29/10/2008
"Lovely place- but they should seriously do something about the road!! The hotel is a bit away from the main area and only half the road was tarmacked- all I can say that getting back at night was certainly an experience!"
Ms. jurate d. - United Kingdom on 25/09/2008
"Once you get past the noisy dusty road outside, the pool & bar area just inside the front gate is a welcome cool & relaxing oasis to unwind in after a day at the temples or touring. Staff were great and good to chat with. Room with breakfast was good value for the price, but water pressure needs some work. Tuk-tuks and motos always seem to be available outside."
Mr. David C. - Australia on 24/09/2008
"The hotel was in a good position, the road to get to hotel was not good at all, but behind the gates you have paradise. All meals were very tasty and they have wide range to choose from. The were staff friendly and always willing to do what they could to make our stay pleasurable. The rooms were very clean and tidy.Overall had a great time in Siem Reap and would recommend to everyone. "
Mrs. kylie s. - Australia on 05/09/2008
"This was a brand new budget price boutique hotel that had just opened, inclusive of a full breakfast, and with a nice small pool to boot. The owner was very pleasant and hospitable, offering my brother and I breakfast when we arrived in the morning, free drinks to go with our lunch on the second day, then arranging for a 5.30am full breakfast for my brother and I on the morning of our departure. Excellent value for money, despite minor teething hiccups (no toiletries and bottled water in the room), and a pleasant experience overall. Once the road to the hotel is paved (in September, we're told), and assuming the hospitality and cleanliness standards are maintained, this will be a highly sought after lodging. "
Mr. Samuel C. - Singapore on 06/07/2008
