Traveller Comments:
"The only minor issue we trust we should highlight it is the accommodation which supposedly confirmed via internet booking as twin bedroom, was turned out to be a double bedroom. In order to get the twin bedroom, we have to fork out additional USD2 i.e. USD40 instead of USD38 (internet published rate). According to the supervisor of the hotel, USD38 (internet published rate) is applicable to double bedroom only. Therefore, in future, accuracy of the information, particularly rate of accommodation should be clearly stated."
Ms. Mun Li W. - Malaysia on 09/07/2006
"I think the website is excellent and booking system very good. I would only recommend some kind of customer rating for the hotels - in this way they might improve their service (see above)."
Mr. Graham L. - Cambodia on 05/05/2006
"Maybe add refrigerators to rooms.Use mosquito deterrent when in Restaraunt."
Mr. William L. - New Zealand on 24/04/2006
"It was a great expereince. The car was waing for us at the airport, the driver and staff worked real hard to make us happy, the food simple but good, the facility was just what we were looking for."
Ms. Lisa D. - United States on 22/04/2006
"web page, booking and payment process have all been very good. All very prompt and just perfect. Much better than many other countries.

Overall Cambodia has been an extraordinary destination and we'd love to go back."

"We are very happy to visit your Hotel and Cambodia. But most impressive was an Angkor Temples. "
Mr. Tomasz K. - Poland on 07/11/2008
"Good hotel, close to all the temples - good value for money"
Mr. James M. - United Kingdom on 16/04/2008
"We were very impressed with this place. The location is too far to walk to town but dont despair as the tuk-tuks are great fun and the hotel will provide you with a detailed sheet on all the proper transport fees to/from town (real cheap!). There are always tuk-tuks out the front of the hotel and they will wait in town to take you back or you can arrange a pickup time if you want. Breakfasts were basic and setting was really relaxing which is just what you need after a long day of romping through the ruins. Pool doesnt go astray either. There is one awesome restaurant strip in town with a fantastic night vibe and good food. We loved the Khymer curry at the Kyhmer family restaurant (about midway down). The Night market in town was also a fun experience (tourist goods only). Free hotel pickup from the airport was also spot-on. Driver was there waiting exactly as organised. We used cars & tuk-tuks to see the ruins and would only use tuk-tuk's if we went again as it enhances the experience."
Mr. TROY G. - Australia on 04/02/2008
"absolutely fantastic"
Ms. Nadege H. - France on 17/12/2007
"The resort is a very nice place to stay at. Service is friendly and they speak good english. The rooms are clean and well decorated, as is the whole place. The only thing to think of, is that in the resort, you are on an island in a very poor country. It is worth to walk over to the temple next door and have a look at the voluntary school for children who cannot afford an normal school. Talk to the monks who educate these children etc. If you walk the dirtroad to the left, you will see the poor and rich houses next to each other and makes you wonder where all the tourist money is going to. It's a very nice resort, but sometimes you feel guilty at the pool to be there."
Mr. Armand H. - Netherlands on 22/02/2007
"I am pleased to respond to your inquiry as I was going to write a note of thanks anyway.

My wife and I have been travelling in Cambodia for three weeks now, and of all the hotels we have stayed, the Pavillion Indochine is by far the best. In fact, staying with you was one of the most pleasant hotel experiences we have ever had.

Your staff, without exception, were warm, friendly, and polite--from the front desk, to the restaurant, to the girls who returned our laundry--and such smiles everywhere.

Walking through the Pavillion, enjoying the furnishings, color scheme and pool surround was a constant delight, because of the thoughtful touches everywhere, the flowers, the antiques and the little notes that told the guests how much to pay for taxis, motos and tuk tuks. Your guide service was excellent and made our visit to Angkor Wat such an informative pleasure.

We enjoyed the restaurant-especially the included breakfast, which was quite sumptious--and again enjoyed the special touches like the chubby little yogurt pots and the unexpected selection of teas.

Your rooms were large, comfortable, cool, and quite unique and we took many photographs as mementos. I can only wish that all the hotels in all the world were as attractive and affordably priced. It would make travelling so much easier.

"The staff at Pavillon Indochine where as friendly and helpful as you would expect from a gracious peopel as the Cambodians.

Highly recommend it to anyone considering travelling to Siem Reap."
Mr. Ian R. - Australia on 01/01/2007
"The Pavillon Indochine experience was a great one all around. I have already recommended the place to other people and on several websites. If I ever return to Siem Reap, there is no question that I would return to Pavillon Indochine! Thank you for a wonderful experience!"
Ms. Mary S. - United States on 15/10/2006
"A wonderful stay at the Pavillon Indochine.
I really enjoyed the good food (great home made jam), the dedicated service and above all the extremely friendly, conversational atmosphere where many traveler's tales were exchanged. Charming restaurant near the pool with cool music to relax.
Thea and Fred have been warm, friendly, welcoming hosts. I couldn't have asked for more. Thea organized everything for me (nice driver and brilliant French speaking guide). I will always remember my talk with Fred, a former war reporter, long time resident, and its stories sending me into the wilds of Cambodia.
This atmosphere, the ancient furniture, colonial style, very comfortable rooms coupled with the quiet, country location meant that it was a perfect retreat after a full-day sightseeing. I stayed in numerous 5-stars hotels over the (too short) duration of my time in Asia, but I enjoyed none more than the Pavillon Indochine.
They will see me back next year as this trip to Angkor was too short... So much to see!

"We have a wonderful stay with this resort in all ways such as hospitality from the staff, amenities, basic facilities, location and environment."
Ms. Mun Li W. - Malaysia on 09/07/2006
"This a wonderful hotel, situated in the outskirts of Siem Reap, very close to the temples. However our arrival was met with virtual silence from the male staff and complete indifference to our presence. It was such a let down as we had been looking forward to staying there. There was no "hello" or "welcome" or anything - they simply looked through the bookings and gave us our key. A very poor welcome and this set the tone for the whole stay unfortunately. The female staff were better and generally smiled and were pleasant but the male staff looked very unhappy indeed.

We were there for three days and on the second day our room was not cleaned at all - not very nice to come back from the temples into a dirty room. In addition, plates and glasses from our lunch had not been cleared away from the table outside our room and we had to ask for these to be removed.

Sadly the breakfasts were very poor as well. Cold coffee, yogurt that was sitting out for hours before it was eaten and warm orange juice. Just a little more effort could have made this a much nicer breakfast.

We came away from the Indochine Pavillion thinking what a wonderful building and location it was, but how this was spoilt by the very poor service (particularly from the male staff). We really felt they did not understand the need for good service and a friendly approach and for this reason we would not recommend staying at the hotel until the management and staff have been reviewed."
Mr. Graham L. - Cambodia on 05/05/2006
"Well worth the stay nice rooms and lovely setting."
Mr. William L. - New Zealand on 24/04/2006
"We were very, pleased with the facility. The rooms neat, clean, the pool was great, and our overall experience is that we would come back again. A samll place like this is so much better that a big hotel."
Ms. Lisa D. - United States on 22/04/2006
"Pavillon Indochine is really a good place to stay. Location and the hotel itself are great. Staff are also very nice. Rooms are almost perfect, only issue of concern is the shower, where we would prefer having a different solution. If you shower, the whole bathroom gets flooded, which is a bit annoying and spoiling the overall impression."
Ms. Ingelore B. - United Arab Emirates on 26/03/2006
"The staff was very nice, and even after checking out, when I needed help tracking down the taxi where I'd left something, they contacted the taxi immediately and had him drive back to the airport! The room was great and had real charm.
A better breakfast menu would be the only thing I would want to see change."
