Suites and Sweet Resort Angkor
Sustainability
This accommodation provider has taken action to address one or more issues (whether environmental, social or cultural) which will contribute positively to the long term viability of the destination and hence their site displays a Caring for the destination rating.
Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:
Connecting with the local community.
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
The owners, management and staff of Suites and Sweet Resort Angkor believe that a long term positive development cannot be successful without benefits for the community - all the more in a developing country such as Cambodia.
With their guests and local neighbors Suites and Sweet Resort Angkor want to try to facilitate and encourage:
- Connection between visitors and Khmer people in a mutual respect and understanding.
- A dignified and responsible tourism faced to the underprivileged people and particularly saving of children against all forms of abuse.
- Education and medical care of children especially for orphans and children of poor families.
- Protection of the environment by recycling the resort waste as much as possible and making donations of retired items.
and also
- For a sustainable tourism, promotion of Cambodia as a separate destination and not only as an extension of a journey
The staffs at Suites and Sweet Resort Angkor are educated and fully aware and involved in these aims and there are links with local NGOs and charitable organizations.
The owners have also created a fund "Jacq-Yvonne" endowed by a percentage of the resort profits.
If you would like more information about any of these initiatives, please contact Christian Izard, Company's director and founder of the Suites and Sweet Resort.
