This next part if not the hotel's fault, but they could have handled it better.
I was particularly disappointed on arrival because the price displayed on this website next to the room type I selected before entering in my credit card and selecting "Book This Room" was NOT the price the website emailed to the hotel. Luckily it was only 15% more, not double or anything. The fine print on the website said "Low season price". At no point did this website show me the price for the season I am in before I booked. Bad form. Anyway, the hotel manager refused to do anything about it, and offered me a free airport shuttle when I leave. (They are free anyway! And I was leaving by road, not air). after 1 night in a musty smelling room, I told them I am checking out and going to find another hotel. It was only then that the manager matched the price displayed online. I decided to stay the rest of the 4 days, because otherwise the hotel was fine, and in a convenient location, and the room was quiet (until the maintenance started at 7:30am every morning!!!!! Thump Thump Thump through the ceiling)
Finally, the staff were pretty useless. I asked "How do I get to Angkor wat". They said "get a car". They had no way to tell me how, where from etc.. let alone help me get one. So I called the taxi driver who picked me up from the airport, the one who's price changes from his quoted price. Apparently the price of fuel rose sharply during that day, or something... No thanks to the hotel for hooking me up with a reputable car company or anything...."
