Local employment, waste and energy management
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
Villa Kiara Boutique Hotel was created with the idea of giving back to the community and provides employment and support to the local Cambodian staff by giving them an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience through work. The management and staff are globally conscious and aim to support the environment by responsibly disposing waste and by using solar energy to provide hot water. Further to support the community, Cambodian made products are used to build and decorate the property. As people, the management and staff strongly oppose and proactively discourage child labour and sexual tourism in Cambodia.
