Re-live history at Angkor Wat with an evening festival that was organized by King Suryavarman II in the 12th century (1113-1150). The events were held throughout the year and designed to drive away evil spirits while invoking good karma for the King’s people.
As you approach the front of the Temple, you will surely be astounded by the magnificence of this enduring architectural achievement, with its unparalleled beauty enhanced still further by its seemingly magical illumination set against the deep black and bright stars of the night sky.
Candles & flaming torches will add to the mystical & spiritual aura of the temple, as you enter the Gate House under the three towers and begin your journey back in history.
Observe military drills as the King’s elite guards are put through their paces by their Drill Master General. See beautiful Apsara dancers perform on the steps of the King’s Libraries on either side of the walkway, and traditional crafts men and women show off their handmade wears and items of interest such as sculptors, potteries and fine silks made to the highest standards.
Take a moment to bask in the wonder of Angkor Wat under the stars. Here in front of the King’s Stage surrounded by the temple complex you can relax, enjoy a traditional Khmer dinner and absorb your elegant surroundings. Seated in the heart of the temple complex be entertained by the King’s personally chosen Apsara dancers performing on the original stage used for over 900 years to entertain Kings.
