had a wonderful stay at antanue. very clean, charming and warm place. stuff were always smiling to me which made me feel like i was home. though it is a bit far away from old market area, i used tuktuk/motor bike to go out all the time so wasn't a big problem. i stayed in cabana room alone so it was spacious for me but if there're two adults with big suitcases, the room would be a bit too small. overall i can recommend antanue for sure!- 13/05/2008, Ms. Mutsumi Noguchi

This hotel was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at in Asia. The hotel was real 5 star at 3 Star prices. The Staff were extremely friendly and Helpful. The Swimming pool perfect size for the 14 room hotel, with a great pool side Bar with a lovely girl called 'Solid' who taught us some of the basic language. The rooms were so Peaceful and tranquil, ours overlooked the pool which was fantastic for breakfast, which was served from 6am until the evening, perfect especially as the best time to see the temples is at sunrise, great to come back for a hearty Breakfast. The french Manager Mr Baroiller couldn't do enough for us, his tips on local places to eat had us eating in fantastic local restaurants. the hotel is a only a 10 min walk from the eateries and markets. A $2 Moto ride home. (Ideal After a few Beers). Overall the service at this hotel was great and i would Recommend it to anyone. - 04/05/2008, Ms. pamela yoxall

Sokha Angkor

Book

Location: Siem Reap

From: USD 112.00

there was one night when we asked for our complimentary water, and the service staff came to deliver it, but was insisting on entering the room, while he was told to just pass on the bottles, he pushed the door wide open and made an attempt to enter the room, even if he was not invited to. on another occasion, the service staff opened the door with their own key, without knocking, WHILE we were IN THE ROOM! obviously someone must be told about their entering-the-room etiquette. otherwise, we found that the staff was very friendly and warm, and the service in the room was perfect. they came to clean twice a day, and replenished amenities and changed towels each time.- 10/02/2008, Ms. Doreen Cuenca

please remember to check with hotel operator that your Room rate booking is included or excluded breakfast otherwise they will charge you, even they give you breakfast coupon after check in. - 04/01/2008, Mr. VANG VIEN THONG

Sala Bai Hotel School

Book

Location: Siem Reap

From: USD 13.00

This is a wonderful little hotel. The fact that it is a hotel school and by staying here we are able to help Cambodian youth train for the hospitality industry doubles the good feeling. Everyone we saw was so pleasant, helpful and caring - such beautiful smiles. Our room was wonderful - large, comfortable and kept impeccably clean. The little extra touches were most welcome. We had both breakfast and lunch in the restaurant and would suggest that no visit to Siem Reap would be complete without experiencing one or both. The Khmer food was great and the pork medallions were exquisite. The service was first-rate. Our congratulations to this year's group of graduates as they find jobs in the hotel/tourism industry. They are well-prepared and so want to please. What a great experience!! Now, when the cookbook is available in English, is there a way to order from the website??- 19/03/2008, Mr. David Johnson

Sala Bai does great work - they are training future hospitality employees. So the rooms are super clean, food in the restaurant is good, and all are eager to help. The result is a great effort. Sometimes there are limitations with English or knowing what to do (they are students and some requests are 'first times' for them), but they work hard to make things right. Conveniently located, if you're looking to stay at a place that can make a difference, this is the one. Just don't bother about the free taxi service - ours never arrived as promised (like many other comments on this board) and it's only $5 to get into town.- 05/03/2008, Ms. Jennifer Norris

Good hotel, close to all the temples - good value for money- 16/04/2008, Mr. James Miller

We were very impressed with this place. The location is too far to walk to town but dont despair as the tuk-tuks are great fun and the hotel will provide you with a detailed sheet on all the proper transport fees to/from town (real cheap!). There are always tuk-tuks out the front of the hotel and they will wait in town to take you back or you can arrange a pickup time if you want. Breakfasts were basic and setting was really relaxing which is just what you need after a long day of romping through the ruins. Pool doesnt go astray either. There is one awesome restaurant strip in town with a fantastic night vibe and good food. We loved the Khymer curry at the Kyhmer family restaurant (about midway down). The Night market in town was also a fun experience (tourist goods only). Free hotel pickup from the airport was also spot-on. Driver was there waiting exactly as organised. We used cars & tuk-tuks to see the ruins and would only use tuk-tuk's if we went again as it enhances the experience.- 04/02/2008, Mr. TROY GORANDER

My two daughters and myself had a wonderful three nights at Angkor Discover Inn. Despite the fact that the hair dryer blew up (which was a little scary), it's a charming hotel and we definitely got our money's worth.- 07/08/2007, Ms. Jamilah Hadri

This guesthouse is wonderful! The staff are so kind and helpful and it is a positively charming guesthouse-- not too many rooms, quiet, romantic, and beautiful balconies and very tasteful architecture. It's far enough from the rest of the bright lights, tour groups and big touristy hotels but still close to everything you wish to do in Siem Reap. The staff really goes out of their way to make sure everyone is comfortable and having a great time!- 14/04/2007, Ms. Kristen Loring

In nutshell, we as senior citizens have to say that our trip was quite an enjoyable one and would definitely recommend the same to my friends and family circle. We are vegetarian and the chef did everything to accomodate our need in this regard. We were extremely pleased with everything at the Hotel.- 22/02/2007, Mr. Radha Krishna Kambhampati

A great place to stay, but, because the electricity grid in Seam Reap is not up to the demands of big hotels as yet, there were frequent mini power outages - no fault of the hotel, but inconvenient. Hot water supply suffered as a result of these problems. Maybe the hotel could think about getting its own generator to prevent these problems. Otherwise I would recommend the Angkor Paradise Hotel.- 03/01/2007, Mr. Andrew Heather

Earthwalkers Guesthouse

Book

Location: Siem Reap - airport road

From: USD 5.00

Earthwalkers is the truly backpackers home in Siem Reep. Henrik, Swedish who is presently running the place is totolly accessible. The guesthouse invites you to participate in all kinds of local volunteer activities. I gave blood to the Children's Hospital which is in urgent need due to increased cases of Dingy fever in Cambodia. They were able to book bus passage back to Bangkok for me which was cheaper than me trip coming the opposite way. I wholeheartedly recommend Earthwalkers as an extremely reasonable inn. The next lucky people to stay there will have a swimming pool finished by August they hope!!- 29/06/2007, Mr. Stephen Cook

Earthwalkers is a home away from home. I've stayed here many times before and always enjoy the friendly inclusive feel of the place. Because of the large number of people staying there who are working on various community projects around town, the converstaions you strike up are always very intersting ang insightful. Frankly, the experience is a unique one.- 04/03/2007, Mr. Len Cordiner

Bopha Angkor Hotel

Book

Location: Siem Reap - Wat Bo area

From: USD 41.00

Bopha Angkor is a lovely hotel. Its location is so convinient that only a few minutes walk brings me to the old marked. The staffs are friendly and its Asian atmosphere is fantastic. Also I enjoyed breakfast. Though I am a small eater, I eat all every morning. The facilities are a bit old but well maintenanced. I had dicided to stay this hotel, reading other travellers' feedback. I would like to appreciate for their recommendation. If I go to Siem Reap again, I am sure to stay there again.- 04/10/2007, Ms. Kyoko Ichijo

The decor in the hotel is supposedly traditional but is a little dark which makes the room a bit gloomy. However, I had a fantastic bathroom!- 27/08/2007, Ms. Ana Garcia Sarria

A wonderful staff that even went the extra mile by bringing a cake and roses on my birthday! The front desk arranged for an amazing guide for us to see the Wats. The room was cleaned quickly and effeciently. However, we did have some issues with ants in the bathroom. In addition, the hotel is adding an elevator, so there was some construction during the day. However, this did not detract from the overall experience since the staff was friendly and helpful in all aspects. The hotel is charming and in an excellent location by the old market and bar street.- 01/08/2007, Mr. Byron Lee

FCC Angkor

Book

Location: Siem Reap - Old French Quarter

From: USD 112.20

Absolutely brilliant trip but beware of the trips to Angkor Wat. Suggest getting a guide from the beginning. Its best to buy the entrance pass on the day you arrive Siem Reap at 5pm and not any earlier in which you can get to go into the Angkor Wat and view the sunset for free and still get to go in the next day. We got conned into buying a day pass at 4pm to see the sunset in Angkor by the some of the staff working at the ticketing booth and the ticket is only good for that day. USD 20 per person just to climb some hills and view the sunset? Big Time Rip Off!! Also, should anyone decides to take a boat ride from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh - think twice, do so at your own risk. Ferry boats does not have any life rafts not sufficient life jackets. Ferry boat is packed like sardines in tin cans and its way overloaded for trips across the vast Tonle Sap lake. There are no marine regulation governance but total greed and reaping it in as much as possible from tourists. This is a grave accident waiting to happen. - 03/01/2008, Mr. KEN Yip

we were very happy with all matters, however there is one thing I would like to mention. there was an umbrella (with the hotel logo) in the room. One day we borrowed it and went out shopping and left it in a shop by mistake. the hotel wanted to charge us USD25 for the lost umbrella saying that was the hotel "policy" and that such umbrella were sold in their on-site shop. the umbrella was poor in quality and nowhere in the room stated that this item was chargeable. We protested but they did not want to hear anything. At the end we refused and offered to go back to the shop where we left that umbrella by mistake the day before to try and retrieve it. we were fortunate to find it and took it back to the hotel.- 06/06/2007, Ms. Beatrice Joliot

When we arrived Siem Reap airport, no one came to pick us up as promised. The reason being there was no booking and no one told the guesthouse to pick us up. However they were very apologetic and fetched us to airport free of charge. - 13/01/2008, Mrs. Annie Goh

The staff picked up us at airport as promised with placard of our names. The guesthouse is new, so the room is bright, clean & kept well. They addressed any room issue immediately. The tuk-tuk we booked thru them was superb - punctual, drive carefully, flexible, std-price (USD8 per day), not trying to sell you everything, helpful and trustworthy. Overall service is friendly and good. We suspected the guesthouse location seems different from the WHL's Siem Reap map but was okay since we got excellence Tuk-Tuk services. Also, with booking, we were charged USD15 but walk-in rate (advertised at the entrance) is only USD10 ! Breakfast and lunch for USD1 are not worthwhile as you can have more value-added ones with almost same price.- 06/10/2006, Mr. Boon Hoe & Shiau Chien Lim & Choong

great little hotel, the swimmimg pool makes up for the location, a little way out of town, lovely people, good brekky, would definately go back. Bren. Australia- 20/02/2007, Ms. brenda turnbull

Although the front desk staff was helpful, we found that in general this hotel did not provide good value for what we paid ($19 US/night). The main reason we choose this hotel was that it included breakfast and transfer to and from the airport. Breakfast was very, very basic and we were disappointed when our driver made us pay for our transfer after taking us to the airport, especially after the hotel staff said it was included. The hotel is quite far from the centre of town.- 13/01/2007, Mr. Theo Bowes

Garden Village Guesthouse

Book

Location: Siem Reap

This is a nice guest house located a short walk from down-town. However, it is on a curvy road with no sidewalk and we were not daring to walk around the first couple nights for fear that we would get lost finding our way back. Food and beer at the roof-top bar were good and cheap. The guest-house mostly catered to young European back-packers. Rooms were large but had mosquitos and geccos. They only offered 1 blanket (no top-sheet). We got a warm shower but many rooms had only cold showers, room had ceiling fan and A/C. Free internet in lobby was slow but OK. Stray dogs wandered around the grounds. Staff was very helpful in arranging tours and rides too town. If you have a family - maybe spend a little more $ and stay near the river or down-town, closer to walking everywhere. Overall - OK as long as you want a cheap place and know what you are getting into. Friendly staff made up for the other short comings.- 07/04/2008, Mr. John Murray

When I arrived, the hotel did not have my reservation and wanted to offer me a room without air conditioning. In the end we got a double rather than a twin room with air conditioning, which was not what I booked. This was frustrating. The staff were all very friendly and eager to help, organising a guide for the Angkor temples, etc. New Years Eve party was very nice! The guesthouse was quite noisy, sound travelled down from the bar on the terrace throughout the night.- 10/01/2008, Ms. Francesca Lemass

Thank you for providing me with information on the Fresh Guesthouse and reservations too. The location is perfect, the room comfortable and clean and the staff helpful. They should include the fact that they have Satellite TV and are close to both the Blue Pumpkin and Soup Dragon restaurants in their blurb on your website. To me that would have made the selection process even faster. A real find and great stop to see the incredible ruins in the area.- 12/04/2008, Mr. Robert Stanton

We feel happy staying at this guesthouse. Guesthouse owner very willing to help and when we need breakfast in order to meet our early morning flight they specially wake up to prepare for us as early as 0500hr and we appreciate it very much.- 23/01/2008, Ms. Lim Geok Eng

It's a nice family-run atmosphere, without being over-the-top in their approach. The hotel is great value for a mid-range budget type Cambodian style. The room was spacious and clean with good facilities and a great bed! The TV and electricals, air-con, etc - were all good and I was certainly happy with the whole experience- 08/07/2007, Mr. Danny LLOYD

Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and nice to us.- 22/02/2007, Mr. Gordon Close

It is a nice hotel. Clean bathroom with hot water and bathtub. I really liked the hotel. I would love to come stay there again when I visit Siem Reap in the near future. Mr Svay Thean was a really nice person and he made me feel right at home in Siem Reap. Not forgetting the others such as Mr Cam Puch and Mr Sovet. I would recommend this hotel to other travellers.- 16/02/2007, Mr. SHAHARUDDIN MOHD SHAM
