Our room (penthouse) was really really great with a lovely panoramous view. Would love to come back & stay again in the same hotel.- 16/02/2010, Mr. Benu Pankaj
There is one thing that was really annoying. The card terminal in the hotel would not accept our cards ( they were all valid, 3 of them ) and we needed to go to the airport with them to take the cash out from the atm. Quite stressful if it happens 1h before the flight.- 03/11/2009, Mr. Filip Polasz

The experience was splendid. A resort feel, excellent service and attention. Only minus is slight distance from old market area, but hotel provides free one-way tuk-tuk ride to town in the mornings and evenings. I had my own tuk-tuk driver (kimsuah_pheang@yahoo.com) for the entire duration of my stay, so had no problems with meals/shopping/sightseeing whatsoever. He was obliging, spoke and understood English very well. I lucked out on both the hotel and tuk-tuk driver choices, and highly recommend them.- 06/07/2009, Mr. Samuel Chong

We found the hotel and their student staff to be excellent in every way. We booked the hotel mainly because it provided local disadvantaged youths with a chance and felt this was a wa to give something back and expecfted some peculiarities. The actuality howver wasw that we have never been so well looked after at a hotel, it was a pleasure to stay there.- 26/01/2010, Mr. Peter Coen

A few suggestions: (i) Shower area: Water tends to flow out from the shower enclosure onto the floor. (ii) A couple of wall power outlets for cellphone/computer in the bedroom would be useful. We got a quite room to the poolside. Bathroom large with separate shower room.- 07/01/2010, Mr. Bernhard Goschin
The staff were kind but only had the command of very basic English. This included the managers I spoke to. I had some concerns about safety when I arrived and not a single person could understand what I was saying/asking even though it was not very complicated. The bathroom definitely needs a renovation so the hotel can be called 5 star.. The spa facilities were excellent and so were the spa staff. I only ate at the hotel and got very serious food poisoning. For the relative price I was paying I would not have expected this.. In retrospect, ordering sea food was a very very bad idea. Overall, the staff were kind and the hotel nice - but not a 5 star value.- 23/08/2009, Ms. Sylvia Ladunga

Allson Angkor Hotel
BookLocation: Siem Reap - airport road
From: USD 35.00
Coming from the Hospitality Industry as a former f/b director of a Hilton property, I was very dissapointed. I am probably more understanding due to my prior experience in the hotel industry, but some were just unacceptable. I now understand why there was a lack of customers checked into the hotel. Upon arriving to our room there was no toilet paper in the restroom. The toilet seat and shower was stained and discolored. When I requested a iron and ironing board, I received a iron that was old as dirt and looks as though it was rewired. And told that there was no ironing board and that I could use the coffee table as a place to iron (Advertised on website). After a long day filled with walking and touring I wanted to jump into the pool and sit in the sauna for some relaxation. I had to go to the front to ask the staff to turn the electricity on in the locker rooms to find out 30 minutes later that the sauna is not working (advertised on website). Before hitting pub street for some food and shopping I stopped by the desk to exchange some currency. Was advised that they didnt have any money and that I should go to an ATM (advertisede on website). Prior to our checkout day I had already advised the staff on duty that due to our tour we may check out a little late and if it was going to be a problem. I was told no problem. As we were leaving to meet our guide on our final day I once again approached the front desk to just once again let them know of the situation, to only get a very negative staff and different answer. I was tired of arguing with the staff and asked to speak to the manager on duty or of higher authority. But of coarse, noone was around at that time! The highlight of my stay at Allson Angkor were the bellhops and our young waitress in the restaurant. High five to them!!! Overall I was very dissatisfied with my experience there and will never return to that property again. Next week and in February many of my friends will be traveling to Siem Reap to see the history of Cambodia and to explore Angkor Wat and its surroundings. I have already advised them not to stay at Allson Angkor and explained my experience to them. Please do not list my feedback and comments on the website, for I know that with a little help many of these mishaps can be turned around and that another customers experience will be in a positive and enjoyable state besides mine. I usually ignore these kind of surveys but, without my feedback Allson Angkor can not better themselves! Goodluck and Best wishes Allson Angkor!- 16/12/2009, Mr. Shin Saito

Good value for money. The breakfast was great, staff was always helpful and welcoming. Just one thing I didn't like: the laundry. We left our laundry in the hotel, and some guy took it on behalf of the hotel and he tried to charge us 30% more... (luckily I had a travel scale). And our cloths were still dirty, not sure they used washing machine at all...But I'd recommend this hotel to everybody. Wifi was not working in our room, just in the hall way, but that was ok.- 15/02/2010, Ms. Andrea Hajas
Guest house staff were extremely friendly and helpful about solving problems and also arranging local tours etc. Restaurant was not so good as service was erratic and many menu items simply not available. Waiting time for food was very long in one instance despite being the only patrons. The guesthouse operator recommended us to TAT hotel in Phnom Penh, but we moved out of TAT after one night as we thought it was pretty horrible. The guesthouse is a bit out of the way, but the free transport to the centre of town helps.- 18/01/2010, Mr. Hugh Hunkin

Unfortunately on arrival we were told that we would need to change rooms after our first night and rather than apologising, the staff blamed World Hotel Link for not having told us this already. While we were out the next morning our belongings were packed up and moved for us, a disconcerting experience, and we had specifically re-organised our day to come back and pack our own things. There was a very reluctant acknowledgment that this shouldn't have happened but no real apology or attempt to compensate for this: an offer of a complimentary cold drink would have been enough! (Also our bathroom had patched fly wire and was not mosquito proof although under other circumstances we would have put up with this.) La Noria had come highly recommended but in light of the above we moved after one night and didn't stay the 4 nights we had booked. A very disappointing experience.- 21/03/2008, Mr. Peter Lindenmayer

The whole hotel is great, especially the room we've chosen, a suite, since 3 pax staying. We were warmly welcome and a lady attended to our check-in. She was very polite and helpful to our enquiries though she's just a trainee at the hotel. Since we arrived very early at 8am+, we understand that we can't get to our room yet and were told is available to us at 12pm. After a long, hot walk at the town for so many hours, When We go back to the counter at 12pm, the staff said will check for us and were told to sit around and they will comw to us in a while with reply. However, 15mins passed and still nobody came, though we were just sitting on the sofa right in front of the counter. Therefore I went back to the counter, again, they checked for a while and confirmed that the room is ready! What have they been doing for the past 15mins?? The room and ambiance with a swimming pool were good. However, it would be better if 2 towels per person were provided, as well as a bottle of shampoo. Also the AC machine was too small for the room, with the temperature over the seating area (where the sofa is kept) being too high for comfort. The breakfast, that was included in the room price, could have been better. For instance if the choice of breakfast included eggs, not even a small cube of butter OR jam was provided with the bread, making the dry bread really difficult to swallow.- 11/03/2010, Mrs. Parsathi Chatterjee

Although the hotel is in a 'quiet' part of the town, the pool does border onto the front road, so it can get a bit noisy at times. But this is posted by a noise-sensitive 52 year old.- 29/04/2008, Mr. Graham Bennett
this is a good value for money hotel close to the town centre for all the evening attractions. the included breakfast was acceptable with a reasonable selection available.good value for money.- 13/03/2008, Mr. robert beavis

European Guesthouse
BookLocation: Siem Reap - Wat Bo area
From: USD 8.00
I have 2 comments on my experience of my stay: 1) Airport pickup upon arrival - I was not picked up at the airport upon arrival despite I requested for the pickup when I booked the accommodation. As a result, I had to take a cab to the guesthouse. When I asked the staff whether that can be compensated by the guesthouse providing airport transfer (Guesthouse to airport), my request was declined. 2) 2 mornings in a row, my room door was opened by accident by the staff while I was still in bed without a knock on the door. Overall, I still find the staff very charming and nice to deal with. Liked the bar and set up of the guesthouse.- 02/03/2010, Mr. CHOONG TSUN MELVIN YUEN
I can't say enough good things about this place. Siri and Nick are the best!- 28/02/2010, Mr. Robert Schrader

Chenla Guesthouse
BookLocation: Siem Reap
From: USD 10.00
The cleanliness is just ok for me because there are too many mosquitoes in my room. Despite of this, I really enjoy the services offered by Chenla Guesthouse especially the kindness of Sofia.- 07/03/2010, Mr. Choi Gordon
Great place to stay for the price you pay. Clean & genuine hospitality by the staff. Clean sheets & towels. The place could do with some touchups on painting though otherwise it's a perfect place to rest after a few days of exploring the wonders of Angkor Wat. Ask for Ms. Prom Prais (frontdesk) to update you on places to see & eat, toot-toots, taxis, buses & the like. She makes you feel very much welcomed in a strange city. Tremendous help indeed!- 22/01/2008, Mr. Wong Pok Hing

Garden Village Guesthouse
BookLocation: Siem Reap
From: USD 6.00
Good location. The expensive rooms are quiet (if you ask for one), clean and big. The service wasn't very friendly. They got mixed up with our reservation, but things were OK in the end.The room was a bit expensive, so we tried to move to a cheaper one and of course they didn't help us.The tuk-tuks and the bicycles at the hostel were expensive. We had to rent bikes elsewhere and get tuk-tuks at the restaurants.- 08/03/2010, Ms. Ailin Nakashima
Great location, walking distance to the night market and pub street. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Food & drinks were cheap and bar area had a great atmosphere!- 02/02/2010, Ms. Tracey-Lee Beswick

Big Lyna Villa
BookLocation: Siem Reap - Wat Bo area
From: USD 20.00
It was always to hot in the room, also when the AC was running the whole day, it was still about 30C. The choise of breakfast is very limited. The english knowledgement of the staff was not very good. They did not offer any tours, or give any advice. In summary the price for this Hotel is too high.- 23/04/2009, Mr. Peter Mietlewski
Very pleasant stay. The staff should make more effort to keep the room fixtures, in particular the bathroom, in good shape - 16/03/2008, Mr. Ottar Johnsen

Paul Dubrule Hotel and Tourism School
BookLocation: Siem Reap - airport road
From: USD 20.00
I was terribly disappointed with my stay at the Paul Dubrule School. For one, there was no one manning the Reception Desk when I had arrived from the airport, and for most of the day. When I finally found them, they were clueless regarding my reservation! Please tell the other future guests that the school has no staff on call after 5:30pm, and there are no restaurant, housekeeping nor maintenance services after the staff has gone home. Breakfast is NOT included, by the way. Also, bring a powerful bug repellant -I couldn't sleep knowing I was " sharing " my bedroom with a swarm of " gigantic" mosquitoes!(I have pictures to prove it!)I checked out 1st thing in the morning !- 29/09/2008, Ms. Regina Lopez
we didn't eat in the restaurant and were out from early until mid-evening (when the place only has a security guard) so didn't see many staff but those we did see (the senior staff)were lovely and helful. had everything we needed. comfy and very quiet and peaceful. - 02/04/2008, Ms. josephine dixon
